Casual tours of our super sustainable owner built hempcrete home, set on a suburban block in a quiet village in Northern Tasmania
Next session
Sunday 26th June 2022
Only ten adults per tour means a very personal insight can be given.
See below for more details about us and our home.
Sean and Mandy settled in Northern Tasmania in 2008 after many years of travelling and working across Australia.
They first renovated a 1950s weatherboard house sustainably. This was followed by a rental property in the same way. After being introduced to the properties of hempcrete they decided if the right block came up for sale they would downsize and owner build a small hempcrete home.
The right block did eventuate and the building process started in 2018. They moved into the house in late 2020.
In 2021 Sean and Mandy decided to start running eco home and lifestyle tours.
The two renovations and the build were all documented on our informative blogs. Click here for blogs.
If you have a passion for sustainable living, want to find out more about living in a home built from natural materials, love upcycling, or just want to have a sticky beak then our casual Sunday eco home tours are a perfect way to spend an hour or so.
We are situated in a small village not far from the city of Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.
4th Sunday of the Month
Numbers are limited on each tour to enable us to give as much information about our home and our lifestyle as possible in a very personal way. It also ensures that Covid-19 requirements are met.
This short, informative video goes into the thinking behind the owner build as well as the build itself.
